The Wharton Moelis Advance Access Program is a deferred MBA enrollment option tailored for college or graduate school students who know they want to eventually get an MBA and who want to secure admission before gaining professional experience—in the case of Wharton, between two and four years of experience—before enrollment.
The highly selective program seeks, according to Wharton, “students who are ambitious, innovative, and prepared to use a sense of professional liberty to maximize their early career experiences while impacting the world.” Accepted Moelis Fellows, as they are called, come from all academic fields of preparation and many different professional aspirations, broadening the traditional notions of who seeks a business education as well as the point of a business education.
The Wharton Moelis Advance Access Program
The Moelis Advance Access program offer the opportunity to secure a guaranteed seat in a Wharton MBA cohort two or more years in the future while living one’s early professional years with greater confidence and risk tolerance. Wharton seeks and welcomes deferred candidates who intend to pursue impactful non-profit work, join a startup or a global externship, or start a business, knowing that an MBA will eventually shore their preparation to change field or rise to a heightened level or leadership and expectations.
Wharton’s Advance Access Program is available to students who are in the process of completing or recently completed their bachelor’s, full-time master’s, or other graduate degree, and who have no prior full-time work experience (with the exception of internships or co-op experiences).
During the 2-4-year deferral period, Moelis Fellows have at their disposal a network of peers and scholars globally who can help maximize the value of that time and work and prepare for a successful MBA experience in view of their post-MBA goals.

The Wharton Moelis Advance Access Application Process
The application process for the Moelis Advance Access Program is similar to the application for Rounds 1, 2, and 3 of the regular MBA (and has the same requirements); however, deferred admission candidates are only evaluated relative to peers applying to the Moelis Program (and they comprise about 10 percent of a full admitted MBA class).
